Knee Joint Anatomy

KNEE JOINT The knee joint is one of the largest modified hinge types of synovial joints in the body.
 Knee joint consists of two articulations:
  1. Femur and tibia (tibiofemoral joint), and
  2. Femur and patella (patellofemoral joint)

Knee joint Movements
  1. Flexion
  2. Extension

Ligaments of Knee Joint 
  1. MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament)
  2. LCL  (Lateral Collateral Ligament)
  3. ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament)
  4. PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament)

  1. Medial and Lateral Meniscus

Bursa's In Knee Joint
  1. Supra patellar Bursa
  2. Infra patellar Bursa (Deep & Subcutaneous)
  3. Prepatellar Bursa (Subcutaneous)
  4. Pes anserinus Bursa
  5. Semimembranosus Bursa

Muscles of Knee Joint 
  1. Quadriceps (Rectus femoris, Vastus medialis, lateralis and intermedius)
  2. Hamstring (Biceps femoris, Semitendinosus, Semimembranosus)
  3. Gastronemius
  4. Sartorius
